What a spectacular event watching the rowing races with a great opening-day regatta/yacht parade after that!
The Windermere Cup (https://windermerecup.com/ ) is a series of annual rowing races hosted by the University of Washington. The event is open to international teams and is held in the Lake Washington Ship Canal around Portage Bay, the Montlake Cut and Lake Washington allowing spectators to watch from the banks of the cut. It is sponsored by Windermere Real Estate.
The event is free, you will only need to pay for parking. We plan to meet in Parking Lot E12 at 9:00am. The Mountlake Cut draw bridge typically closes to traffic at 9:40 am and stays closed until after the regatta, so plan to arrive from the north or from I-5. The races start at 10:15 and last until noon with the opening day regatta yacht parade following that. Bring a picnic lunch with you and sit overlooking the Mountlake cut while watching the parade.
